Visa Information

Tourist Visa

• Valid for 3 months from the date of issued.

• Maximum duration of stay in Myanmar is 28 days (4-weeks)

• Visa fees is Yen- 3,000 per person

• Not extendable.           

Requirements for the Tourist Visa Application

1.         Tourist Visa Application Form (2-copies) Download visa forms and see samples

2.         Report of Arrival Form (1-copy) Download visa forms and see samples

3.         3 original color photos (35 mm x 45 mm) of applicant taken recently, to be pasted on Tourist Visa Application forms and Report of Arrival Form.

4.         Valid Passport (valid for 6 months at least from the date of entry) with the available visa page.

5.         Completely filled out all the forms and signed by the applicant.

6.         Job Certificate must be presented (Leave letter, Copy of ID card or any evident of the present job), Retire person should present a copy of the Social Insurance Payment Certificate, Housewife and the applicants who has no job should present tax payment certificate.

7.         Alien Registration Card issued by the Japanese Government (in case of foreign national who is residing in Japan)

8.         Schedule (Self plan or Package Tour plan for International and domestic schedule)

9.         Please ensure that completed address and contact phone numbers or mobile number (in case of no one at home) are included in your application.

10.       Purpose should be sight-seen only (Applicants who are traveling Myanmar frequently for the Business trip should apply Business visa)

Business/ Entry Visa

• Valid for 3 months from the date of issued.

• Maximum duration of stay in Myanmar is 10 weeks.

• Extendable

• Single Entry Visa fees is Yen- 4,500 per person

• Multiple Entry visa for 6-months is Yen-12,000.

• Multiple Entry visa for 1-Year is Yen-24,000.

Requirements for the Business Visa Application

1.         Business/ Entry Visa Application Form  (2-copies) Download visa forms and see samples

3.         3 original color photos (35 mm x 45 mm) of applicant taken recently, to be posted on Business/Entry visa application forms and Report of Arrival Form.

4.         Company Recommendation Letter. (Japanese side)

5.         Invitation Letter from the sponsor or host in Myanmar.

6.         Applicants have been traveled to Myanmar for business purposes at least 3 times in a year or more than that, can apply Multiple Journey Entry Visa.

7.         First time application for Business visa should attach both of the invitation and recommendation letters of the concerned companies. The applicants who frequently travel to Myanmar for Business can apply only with the company recommendation.

Multiple Journey Entry Visa Application

• Valid for 1 year or 6 months according the applicants requested from the date of issued.

• Maximum duration of stay in Myanmar is 10 weeks for the each entry

• Visa fees is Yen- 24,000 per person  (for 1 year), Yen- 12,000 per person  (for 6 months)

Requirements for the Multiple Journey Entry Visa Application

3.         Business Data Form for MJEV applicants Download visa forms and see samples

4.         3 original color photos (35 mm x 45 mm) of applicant taken recently, to be posted on Business/Entry visa application forms and Report of Arrival Form.

5.         Company Recommendation Letter.

6.         Invitation Letter from the sponsor or host in Myanmar. (if possible)

7.         Valid Passport (valid for 6 months at least from the date of entry) with available visa page.

Social Visit Visa(for Ex-Myanmar, for the Family members of Myanmar Citizen)

• Valid for 3 months from the date of issued.

• Maximum duration of stay in Myanmar is 4 weeks.

• Social Visit Visa fees is Yen- 4,500 per person

• Extendable

4.         Family Registration issued by the local ward office (Koseikitohon)

5.         Biography and passport copy of the Family Member who are holding Myanmar Passport

7.         Completely filled out all the forms and signed by the applicant. 

Payment for the Visa

1.         Visa Fees are unable to accept in cash from the 1^st September 2007. It only can be paid Bank Transfer to the following account and submit the original receipt. (Internet and ATM are not acceptable, only payable at the counter services.)

Apply by the mail service system

1.         Through travel Agents or Individual applicants wishing to apply visa by mail/post can freely contact to the Embassy.

2.         One Self-addressed label envelope of prepaid Express Mail with the stamp to return your passport. (Please use the registered system for the safety of your passport.) It takes about 3 weeks to be delivered at requested address. For the urgent application should contact to the travel agents or authorized Myanmar Visa Center to the following address. (Only if you apply through by mail)

Remarks           : Application Form should completely to be filled out all the information given in the visa form, and attached all the necessary documents.

                        :  Embassy will not bare the responsibility for the delaying of visa caused by the incomplete application and unattached necessary documents.

                        :  Visa processing time is depended on the completion of application form and well attached of all the necessary documents.
